It is interesting to witness the successful retirement of Dr. Fati Sheikh Abdullah, the Director Disease Control and Immunization after spending 35 years of meritorious service to her father land. It is in deed, a joyful moment but for most of us who had the privilege of working directly with her, it is a sad and emotional moments. "ALUWO" as some of us called her is an erudite professional per excellent, epitome of leadership with an impeccable character. No wonder, despite heading a sensitive office such as immunization and disease control, she managed the office successfully without blemish comments from any quotas.

Duaring handover ceremony, the Executive Director NSPHCDA, in person of Dr. Ibrahim Ahmed Dangana lauded the achievement of Dr. Fati Sheikh for discharging her responsibilities diligently when, she held sway as the Director of Immunization and disease control. The ED also, appreciated Dr. Fati for the innovations and professionalism she brought to bear in promoting effective Immunization in Niger state. In deed, she will be highly missed and remembered for her selflessness, hard work, dedication, team work spirit, boldness in taking right decisions, fear of God, humbleness and love for her subordinates.

We pray Allah should make her retirement a turning points for more blessings and better things in her life. Ameen. In the same light, the ED welcomed the new Ag. Director Immunization, Dr. Samuel Jiya and congratulated him for succeeding Dr. Fati. The appointment of Dr. Samuel Jiya as Ag. Immunization was seen by many as well deserved because, many believe that he is a round peg in a round hole. However, members were advised to respect and support the new Ag. Director while, prayers were offered to the lord to guide his ways towards success and make all things easy for him in the cause of discharging his new responsibilities. The handover ceremony was Chaired by the ED, and witnessed by Directors and staff of the agency.
