DISCLAIMER!!!
The attention of the Niger State Primary Health Care Development Agency (NSPHCDA) has been drawn to a fake and malicious online publication (www.gbetutv.com) by an unknown element who alleged that 200 people are currently under observation at our State Isolation Center due to adverse reactions from COVID19 vaccination.
This claim is false and completely not true.
It is unfortunate that this fake news are being peddled at a time the Government is doing its best to further contain the pandemic by making vaccines available to Nigerlites and the General Public starting with frontline health care workers.
The NSPHCDA wish to remind the General Public that the 74, 110 AstraZeneca Oxford COVID19 vaccine that was delivered to Niger State was flagged off on the 10th of March 2021 by no other person but His Excellency, Alhaji (Dr) Abubakar Sani Bello, the Executive Governor of Niger State at the Council Chambers of Government House Minna. The vaccine was publicly administered to the Governor, Deputy Governor, the entire Commissioners, Permanent Secretaries and other Council members present.
For the avoidance of any doubt, the Agency wish to state categorically that since it started the vaccination in the State, there has not been any single reported incident of serious or adverse effects from the vaccination.
Also, we wish reiterate to the General Public that the AstraZeneca Oxford COVID19 vaccine is free, safe and good for our people. Therefore, we encourage all indigenes and residents of the State to register online in order, to get vaccinated as scheduled.
Finally, we wish to point out that, there is no time that the State contemplated suspension of the vaccination exercise. The exercise is presently ongoing in all the 25 LGAs at designated Primary, Secondary and Tertiary health care facilities.
The General Public will further be updated on relevant information on the Covid-19 vaccination through Genuine Media publications and Handles.
Signed
Dr. Ibrahim Ahmed Dangana
